Project Engineer/ Senior Project Engineer
 
Salary: £42,840 or £53,818 per annum (dependent on skills and experience). 
Hours: Full time 
Contract Type: Open Ended.
Location: Science and Technology Facilities Council, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory Harwell, Oxfordshire

Are you a self-motivated mechanical engineer interested in the development of innovative mechanical equipment, involving novel concepts, novel materials, and extremely challenging requirements?

The ISIS Design Division has an immediate requirement for multiple experienced Project Engineers and Senior Project Engineers with project management and leadership experience to deliver bespoke research equipment, Design, analysis and development of accelerator, target and instrument systems is a key element in supporting the user community carrying out scientific studies at the ISIS facility. 

Person Specification

For a Project engineer role, we are excited to her from Engineers with:

  • A degree in an engineering-based subject or an engineering apprenticeship + HNC or a project management qualification and experience in delivering complex engineering projects.
  • Experience in leading the engineering of complex and bespoke, predominately mechanical, equipment through the complete lifecycle, from concept to commissioning.
  • Exposure to project management of bespoke large-scale engineering projects (responsible for time / cost / quality).
  • A good understanding of the application of Industrial Standards and Regulations, including production of risk assessments and application of risk mitigation.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively and constructively in multidisciplinary project delivery teams.

The requirements for both Project Engineer and Senior Project Engineer are as above. The level of experience and quality of understanding will determine suitability for the level of role offered and will be determined through interview process.
