Service Owner – Digital Products & Services

Band F: £55,000 per annum

D&I is an internal IT department within UK SBS who provide multiple services to our clients. The teams are responsible for the support and maintenance of UK SBS line of business enterprise applications, as well as delivery and support of commoditised IT to UK SBS and specific clients.

As a Digital Product Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering our digital products, namely integrations but also across several other digital products. Working closely with stakeholders & Product Owners you’ll oversee the entire lifecycle of these products, from inception to launch and the ongoing support of each.

Your responsibilities will span various areas, including client/market research, product design, user interface development, automation, and operations. You will be expected to work closely with Operations to develop a roadmap for automation initiatives, that will be delivery using agile principles – hence you will be creating product visions and turning these into implementable features & user stories, with a focus on incremental delivery.

You will also have the responsibility of line managing the Digital development team.

Role responsibilities will include:

  • To develop and drive the long-term vision and strategy for our digital products, namely our integration services.
  • Translating business goals into actionable features & user stories.
  • Conduct user research and usability studies to understand customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, developers, and the business) to create exceptional user experiences.
  • Craft short- and long-term product visions.
  • Convert product visions into concrete strategies.
  • Participate in market research and gather client feedback to identify new opportunities.
  • Work with our Agile Centre of Excellence, Agile Coaches & Technical Delivery Leads (TDLs) to embed agile ways of working within your Agile Delivery Team and wider.
  • Work closely with the TDLs to identify and delivery efficiencies across our team processes.
  • Support the Agile Delivery Team with any impediments and coaching needs.

 

To do this role well you will need: 

  • Proven experience working in an Agile Delivery approach
  • Extensive experience operating as a Product Owner or Product Manager would be advantageous.
  • An understanding of digital products. A benefit if you’ve experience with integrations (iPaaS),
  • Experience using Oracle & automation products.
  • Experience of how to support & maintain digital products once implemented and live.
  • Line management experience.
  • Strong understanding of Development teams and how to support them.
  • Ability to create a vision for Digital Products & write features & user stories.
  • Previous experience using Jira, whiteboarding collaboration tools &/or other equivalent agile toolsets.
  • Excellent analytical skills for interpreting data.
  • Ability to create Business Cases.
  • Organisational skills for managing complex deliveries.

Things you need to know

To be considered, you will need to successfully obtain BPSS before commencing the role, obtaining clearance usually takes 5-10 working days.

UKSBS does not hold a Home Office Sponsor Licence under the UK Immigration System, therefore applicants must have eligibility to live and work in the UK at application stage.

Working pattern

Our standard working week is 37 hours, Monday to Friday and we promote a hybrid working model which offers flexibility to work at home and come into the office one day a week. Some of the team work remotely this way and some of us prefer to be in the office more often. We think it is important that you have the option to choose what works best for you and the business.
